International Exchange Day (IED)

“International Exchange Day is the most important and exciting day in the IRO calendar. I hope that NUS students would go on at least one overseas programme as learning to live in a different environment could transform your lives.”
- Associate Professor Anne Pakir, Director, IRO -

About IED

International Exchange Day (IED) is IRO’s annual flagship marquee event aimed at raising awareness of the wide range of international education opportunities and programmes available to NUS faculties, schools and departments. A full day event, IED draws a crowd of about 5000 visitors including staff from embassies, university administrators, partner universities and students.

Apart from staging cultural performance and holding competitions for keen participants, IRO organises exhibition booths featuring the food and culture from different countries to which NUS students can go on exchange.

Country-specific talks enable students to learn from current exchange students as well as past students about their experiences at the various campuses. These talks include language preparation, managing finances, negotiating the application process and dealing with culture shock.
