Faculty of Engineering
An important function of the Faculty of Engineering in the National of University of Singapore
is to serve as a strategic resource centre for the long term development of the nation. The Faculty trains the industrial manpower of tomorrow, and effects the transfer of technical know-how and research results to industry through
collaborative research and consultancy projects.
The Faculty has always been active in pursuing both fundamental and applied research. The subjects of study in applied research are those with a
potential of solving current and future industrial problems. Applied research itself also provides opportunities to train postgraduate manpower for
industry and to generate new directions for fundamental research.
